JAZZ enthusiasts in Kendal are set to enjoy a high-profile performance in the area, as the Jazz Club brings in world famous musicians to play in September.

The Jazz Club, which often puts on performances in Burgundys in Kendal, is putting on a series of gigs at Hawkshead Brewery, the first of which will take place on Tuesday, September 13.

It will feature American pianist Jeff Barnhart together with Thomas 'Spats' Langham - a pairing that have proved their skill in working together, as demonstrated by their success at jazz festivals countrywide.

A further addition to the bill is Jeff's wife Anne, an accomplished flautist, who will also be performing.

Jeff Barnhart, who originated from Connecticut, started his performing career aged 14, and has gone on to lead several bands in the UK.

Thomas 'Spats' Langham is a UK born guitarist who has also been performing since his youth. He has experience with a vast number of bands and musicians.

This is just the first of three consecutive star performances at the Club - October sees the return of the Tim Kliphuis Trio, while November brings US saxophone star Harry Allen with the Tom Kincaid Trio.
