A VAST array of musical and artistic talent will be on show at the Factory Tap this weekend as the crafts studios around the bar open up for people to explore.

Live bands, including headliners The Hey Down Treaders, and street food will be on offer, as the Castle Mills adopts a festival feel.

The event has grown from an idea to raise money for the studios that suffered at the hands of Storm Desmond last year.

Ronnie Mullin, who runs Factory Tap and is helping organise the event, said: "The studios wanted to do an open event. They tried in the past but it was due to happen on the weekend when the floods hit.

"The music will give it a festival feel and make it a bit of a Christmas event. It will hopefully attract more people. The band have been great, offering their services at a cut rate."

A marquee and a yurt in the Castle Mills car park will host the bands and a bar, and the studios will all be open for people to buy from. Workshops by some studios will also be available.

The event will take place on December 3 and 4.
