An innovative musical quartet who specialise in multi-media performances at unusual venues will kick off their debut UK tour at Honister Slate Mine.

The Modulus Quartet champion a diverse range of music by living composers and will be bringing their music and multi-media experience to the Fiddler’s Cavern at Honister for two performances on Saturday 6 May 2017.

As part of the special underground performance at Honister, the group will be playing music from their new ’12 seconds of Light’ album, which includes collaborations with composers including Richard Norris, Ash Madni, and Veera Lummi.

The event co-incides with Honister’s 20th anniversary year, which sees a series of special one-off events and performances.

Violinist Craig Stratton says, “The very thought of beginning a UK tour 400 metres below the earth’s surface was enticing enough. The acoustics and space of the mine is not only an integral part of the listening experience but also a visual treat.”
