A ‘GROOVE-led’ rock band with members hailing from the Lake District have earned themselves a slot at Scotland’s only dedicated rock festival.

Cumbrians Heartbreak Remedy will be playing the mainstage at this year’s Wildlife Festival, having fought off serious competition on order to claim the spot.

The festival is being heralded as the showcase for a British new wave in classic rock.

Heartbreak Remedy have been listed on a 69-strong bill to be held in the sumptuous grounds of Wiston Lodge, Scotland between June 23 and 25.

Wildfire festival is pioneering the resurgence of rock music in the UK and beyond.

This year the festival is presenting in one place a “who’s who” of a new generation of breakthrough UK rock bands – Heartbreak Remedy, originally from Dearham, fits the bill and joins in the mission to showcase the great rock music of today, now too many bands in number to be ignored.

As with the ‘new wave of British heavy metal movement’ from the late 70s, the gathering momentum behind what is now being called the ‘new wave of British classic rock’ references the renaissance of a distinctly British blues-rock music tradition - and in Wildfire Festival this movement has a home.

Young bands from all corners of the UK are gaining main stage slots over the weekend, including: Bad Touch (Norfolk), Broken Witt Rebels (Birmingham), The Treatment (Cambridge), Gasoline Outlaws (Belfast), Little Brother Eli (Oxford), The Texas Flood (Swansea), Fragile Things (Milton Keynes), Dirty Thrills (London), Jupiter Falls (Leeds) and Empyre (Northampton).

And as Scotland’s only major rock festival in 2017, Wildfire is also championing grassroots Scottish bands with 11 local acts confirmed including: The King Lot, Anchor Lane, Tantrum, Black King Cobra, Disposable and Swamp Born Assassins – some of whom are securing their debut at a major rock festival.

The Festival will also have an international flavour for 2017, presenting bands from Australia, the USA, South Africa and Denmark.
