The Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal has announced this week that they will be putting on two different hip-hop shows this year, after a well received show last year drew crowds to the venue.

The Mouse Outfit, who performed with Craig Charles near Christmas last year will return to Kendal to play another show a year on.

Manchester band The Mouse Outfit is a 9 piece live band and production team centred around Chini (keys), Pitch (percussion/MPC) and Defty (bass).

Their acclaimed debut album won UK hip hop album of the year 2013 from Wordplay Magazine and was ranked in ABC News’ top 50 albums of 2013.

Since the release of ‘Escape Music’ their profile has increased significantly, both within the UK and internationally.

The album featured many of Manchester’s most talented MCs, but the live show is fronted by UK hip hop legend Dr Syntax and verbal acrobat Sparkz. A horn heavy and funk driven live show combines original material with medleys of classic hip hop and bboy breaks, which has lead the band to be a firm favourite at festivals and clubs throughout the UK.

Earlier in their career they built a loyal fan base supporting many of the world’s finest hip hop acts including Chali 2na, Souls Of Mischief, Akil the MC and The Sugarhill Gang.

They play on December 9.

Southampton born DJ Format and his frequent collaborator Abdominal (from Toronto) will also play at the Brewery, on November 10.

Latest album ‘Still Hungry’ was released in May this year and it saw the duo play live on BBC 6 Music with Lauren Laverne as well as London’s Soho Radio.

The first single from the album, ‘Behind the Scenes’ was play listed on 6Music and received regular airplay.

The duo has released several videos to accompany the album and they have clocked up over 150,000 plays so far. ‘

They focused the second half of their tour on visiting towns not frequented by hip-hop acts, in an effort to satisfy the widespread fans of the genre from outside of the country’s musical hotspots.
