THE internationally renowned Brodsky Quartet launch Lancaster Art’s 49th concert season on October 19 (7.30pm) at the Great Hall, Lancaster University.

The Brodskies, who have collaborated with Elvis Costello and Björk, are well known for their passion for creating new music. They combine contemporary pieces with the great classics and their warm, engaging concerts have won them many loyal fans far and wide.

The world class ensemble's programme features a piece specially written for them by the celebrated Japanese composer Karen Tanaka plus works by Shostakovich, JS Bach, Mendelssohn and Beethoven.
