CUMBRIA Festival Chorus' next project is a celebration of the music of Hubert Parry, probably best known for writing Jerusalem.
Chorus master Ian Jones and the CFC team are looking to recruit more sopranos, tenors and basses for the July 14 Kendal Parish Church performance, which includes works by one of Parry's favourite composers, Brahms.
The CFC concert includes two short choral works by Brahms and his orchestral Variations on a Theme by Haydn. The chorus will also sing Parry's rarely heard but splendid setting of the Magnificat for soprano soloist, orchestra and chorus, the lovely orchestral Elegy for Brahms and finish in a 'last night of the proms' style with Parry's Coronation anthem I was Glad his rousing Blest Pair of Sirens and - with the audience joining in - Jerusalem.
The orchestra will be led by Roland Fudge.
Those interested in taking part should contact Ian Jones on 01539-720168.
