COME Saturday (March 10, 7.30pm) and Levens Choir celebrates the music of Thomas Tallis, a towering figure of the English Renaissance.
Conducted by Ian Jones, Levens Choir shares the stage with the Marian Consort, directed by Rory McCleery, for the St George’s Church, Kendal, Fower Sovereygnes Reygnes - The Music of Thomas Tallis concert, which features some of the composer's most compelling pieces, including the majestic Gaude Gloriosa.
Regarded by many as the father of English church music, Tallis is also known these days for his portrayal in The Tudors television series.
Tickets are available Kendal's Brewery Arts Centre on 01539-725133.
