HUNDREDS of excited fans welcomed X Factor stars Danyl Johnson and Lloyd Daniels to Kendal with ear-piercing screams and cheers this week.
More than 600 people crammed into lakes leisure Kendal on Monday night to watch the talent show finalists join local performers.
Welsh heartthrob Lloyd, 16 – branded “a proper little popstar” by X Factor judge Cheryl Cole – lit up the stage with renditions of I’m Yours and Last Request.
The teenager said he was amazed by the audience reaction.
“It has been really brilliant but it is so strange,” he said.
“I go on stage and there are hundreds of girls screaming at me, it’s unbelievable.”
The young singer was followed by Danyl who made an explosive entrance and sent hundreds of teenage girls into a frenzy when he jumped into the crowd.
He told fans: “I have never been this far up north before but I have to say this is the best audience I have ever seen.”
Danyl sang classics including Purple Rain and With A Little Help From My Friends.
The Reading-born teacher said: “It has been really crazy here tonight. The local acts have been amazing.
“It is absolutely beautiful up here in the Lake District and it is great to see how amazing the crowd are.”
The stars were supported by nine acts including local singers Amy Forrest, from Kendal, and Lisa Hart, from Barrow.
Kendal’s Castle Park Primary School pupils opened the show with their winning entry in Resource Cumbria’s R Factor.
