VIOLINIST Mischa Lindan, a Belarusian, who was brought to the UK by the Chernobyl Children’s Lifeline Charity and studied the violin at Manchester’s prestigious Chetham’s School of Music, plays St John’s Church, Yealand Conyers, on Saturday, January 21 (7pm). Sir Paul McCartney heard of his outstanding talent when Mischa escaped the aftermath of the Chernobyl disaster and paid £5,000 towards the first year of his fees. Since, he studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Madrid Music Academy. Now, aged 24, Mischa has a wide repertoire under his musical belt. Tickets are available on 01524-701902.
