THE Patrons of Lake District Summer Music open their winter season of monthly concerts on Thursday, January 26 (2.30pm) with the Heath String Quartet, fresh from their highly successful Wigmore Hall appearance. The much-awaited series of concerts is staged at Ambleside Parish Centre and showcases young musicians at the start of lifetime careers, fostering the talents who will become the great artistes of tomorrow. Proceeds from the concerts are added to the invaluable scholarship fund established by the Patrons of LDSM which enables students and young professionals to benefit from attending the International Lake District Summer Music Academy and Festival in August.
ot on the heels of the Heath foursome comes the charismatic young guitarist Morgan Szymanski, on February 23; the prize-winning Absolution Saxophone Quartet, on March 29, and finally in April the popular Tunnell Trust winning violinist Lisa Ueda partnered by pianist Daniele Rinaldo.
All the concerts start at 2.30pm.
Tickets may be reserved or bought at the door.
