THOUGH it’s a great band moniker, the name Mull Historical Society always made me imagine a slow-paced, folk ensemble who sang wearily about wildlife and the perils of mould.
Shows how much I know. This is bouncy and infectious guitar pop, full of zest and energy.
Upbeat songs such as Must You Make Eyes At Me Now and The Lights are reminiscent of Foster The People and Noah And The Whale.
Must You Get Low sounds just like 90s hitmakers The Boo Radleys, and stand-out track Fold Out City isn’t a million miles away from long-forgotten Scottish rockers Deacon Blue.
You’ll have lots of fun listening to this.
