THE man behind the excellent 1991 hit Wicked Game is back with 19 cover versions of classic songs from the Memphis Sun Studio era.
The bequiffed blues singer and sometime actor revisits the music that inspired him. And he doesn’t put a foot wrong.
From the first note of opening track Ring Of Fire, by Johnny Cash, through the handful of Elvis tracks, to Roy Orbison’s Oh, Pretty Woman, this is five-star stuff.
By and large, Isaak’s versions remain true to the originals, but his distinctive style and the modern production makes this a must-buy for all music fans.
