HANS ZIMMER - The Dark Knight Rises OST
THIS soundtrack to the majestic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s epic Batman trilogy is powerful and immersive.
Zimmer is arguably the second greatest film composer after John Williams, having written the film score for such blockbusters as Rain Man and Gladiator.
The peaks and troughs of the movie are echoed perfectly throughout, with music as intense as The Chemical Brothers and as gentle as Sigur Ros, while final track Rise is moving beyond measure.
BANANARAMA - 30 Years Of
I MUST admit to having a bit of a soft spot for Bananarama.
Some would say it is a guilty pleasure, but when you listen to this compilation of their career highlights, you can’t deny they made some fantastic pop songs.
Take the moody and beautiful Cruel Summer, or their breakthrough hit Robert De Niro’s Waiting - really lovely songs which still sound as fresh as they did back in the 1980s.
SERJ TANKIAN - Harakiri
MULTI-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, poet and political activist Serj Tankian is back with his third album.
The System Of A Down frontman used his Apple iPad to write some of the songs on this CD, which takes in punk, goth and electronica.
It won’t be for everyone but the more open-minded of us may find something to enjoy here.
