CARLISLE Racecourse will be alive with the sound of indie anthems ‘I Predict a Riot,’ ‘Oh My God’ and ‘Ruby’ this summer as The Kaiser Chiefs have announced an open-air gig.
The Leeds-based band, who have topped both the UK albums and singles charts, will perform at an evening race meeting on July 5.
The Kaiser Chiefs will play on a giant temporary trackside stage after the final race has finished.
The group is fronted by lead singer Ricky Wilson, who is currently a coach on BBC1’s The Voice programme.
The Kaiser Chiefs' new (fifth) studio album - Education, Education, Education & War - is due out in March.
The news comes after Carlisle Racecourse also announced Wet Wet Wet will be performing at Ultimate Ladies Night on August 4.
The four-piece band have charted three number one singles and sold in excess of 15 million singles and albums to date, since their debut album, ‘Popped In Souled Out’, went to number one in 1987.
Wet Wet Wet’s biggest international hit was ‘Love Is All Around’, which featured on the soundtrack to the film ‘Four Weddings and A Funeral’ and topped the UK charts for a record breaking 15 weeks in 1994.
