FROM the West Coast of Canada an extraordinary acoustic quintet are coming to these shores in spring/summer, with three local performances.
The Bills are renowned among folks/roots fans for their instrumental virtuosity, lush vocal arrangements, exuberant live performances and evocative songwriting.
Their latest release, ‘Yes Please’ offers up twelve new original compositions and a seductive arrangement of a medley of gypsy-jazz ballads.
Since forming in 1996, the band has delighted theatre and festival audiences from Copenhagen to California, thrilling fans with their breathtaking musical explorations and their unscripted onstage wit and bonhomie.
In 2006 the band was voted Western Canadian Entertainers of the Year, edging out the likes of nominees Michael Buble and Jann Arden.
The Bills play at Hothouse, Morecambe on May 23, Ireby Festival, Cumbria on May 24 and The Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal on June 6.
