THE BRYCE Street Strummers are ‘in desperate need’ of someone to play their unusual recent acquisition – a cajon.
A cajon is basically a large wooden box made up of different sounding woods. The player sits upon it and bashes away to produce percussion effects, using hands or drum sticks.
This instrument is perfect for use in Flamenco or World music, and is also particularly suitable for unplugged gigs or busking. When full drums are unavailable the cajon delivers a fresh, raw rhythmic backing for any group or ensemble.
