BRITISH Sea Power have announced that a record will be released to support their ‘Sea of Brass’ project.
With Sea Of Brass BSP toured Britain with full, competition-standard brass orchestras, including a homecoming gig in Kendal.
The band have described the releases, made with some of Britain’s leading brass bands, as “an audio-visual collection to commemorate these remarkable nights.”
The set of Sea Of Brass releases are set to come out in February, and will be available as CD, vinyl, download, DVD and limited-edition box-set.
The Sea Of Brass nights stemmed from a commission from Arts Council England, PRS Foundation and Derby Council and led to selections from the British Sea Power catalogue being reworked for 26-piece brass orchestra by the respected arranger Peter Wraight.
British Sea Power have made an all-new, 14-track full studio version of the brass arrangements, recorded with the Foden’s Band, the renowned Chesire-based brass ensemble, formed in 1900.
The studio album is complemented by a separate DVD release, to be filmed with the Redbridge Brass Band at the Barbican.
