CONTINUING Cartmel Priory’s September Festival of the Arts on Saturday (September 23, 7.30pm) will be La Serenissima, which specialises in the music of Vivaldi and his contemporaries. Directed by violinist Adrian Chandler, La Serenissima is recognised as the UK’s leading baroque performance ensemble and recently won a prestigious Gramophone Award for Best Instrumental Baroque Recording with its The Italian Job album. The concert offers a rare opportunity to hear a renowned baroque ensemble in the stunning surroundings of the 800-year-old Cartmel Priory.
