KENDAL South Choir returns to the concert stage on Saturday, May 5 (7.30pm) with an exciting and uplifting evening of music by Mozart. Under the expert direction of Don Gillthorpe, the choir performs the beautiful, popular Coronation Mass, composed in 1779, plus Solemn Vespers, a setting comprising six movements including the well-loved and operatic Laudate Dominum for soprano solo and chorus. Soloists for the St Thomas’s Church, Kendal, concert are soprano, Katy Thomson, mezzo-soprano, Sarah Jillian Cox, and baritone, Charlie Murray, baritone. Both pieces will be accompanied by a small orchestra.
The programme is completed by Mozart’s Epistle Sonata played by Ian Pattinson on the organ.
