Keldwyth Award final is another musical success

THIS year’s Keldwyth Award final for young musicians was again held at Levens Hall with Sarah Gait of Hesket Newmarket landing the trophy.
Cellist Sarah received the winners prize of £1,000 with runners up Samuel Hunter of Whitehaven (drums); Grange-over-Sands pianist, Glen Giffney, and Emma Stannard, mezzo-soprano, of Heversham, each winning £250.
Judges, Mary Powney, John Powney and Roland Fudge said the quality of performance from all four competitors was exceptional.
