Space-rock royalty with origins in the genre’s most beloved band will be bringing their music and stage show to Kendal as part of their nationwide tour.

Following the success of their critically acclaimed UK Top 40 Album Chart release ‘Fusion’ in 2016, Hawklords reset their space-rock clock with the 2017 album release entitled, ‘Six’ (out October 6) and an extensive UK tour.

The will play at Bootleggers in Kendal on November 16 as part of their tour in support of the latest record.

From the malevolent maelstrom that is ‘Mind Crime’ and the intoxicating intrigue of ‘Nightside’ to the expansive desolation of ‘Los Cavatina’, this album breaks the mould with a stark and disturbing, yet, sometimes beautiful, body of work, that reaches into spaces where many may fear to tread.

Described by the band as ‘A study in dystopia and the dark spaces of the mind’, it features key former Hawkwind members Harvey Bainbridge and Jerry Richards, with Dave Pearce (from British psyche-rock band The Bevis Frond) alongside newest band member, Tom Ashurst.

The band’s lightshow will once again be provided by veteran lighting designer Dave ‘Lighthouse’ Johnson, who is creating a brand new show to ‘melt your minds and rock your retinas’.

Band member Jerry Richards said: “This is an album about people and places. Some who find themselves in a world of pain and then sometimes in a world of beauty. This record is quite dark in places, yet it reaches for the light, elsewhere. Hawk fans will love it: a familiar sound exploring the uncharted territory of the mind.”

Harvey Bainbridge added: “It is a step into the nightside, a step into the unknown, a step off the edge of reality, into an alien home”

Originally formed by Robert Calvert and Dave Brock (of Hawkwind) from the ashes of The Sonic Assassins in 1978, the current members of Hawklords include parts of the original lineup, as well as seasoned veterans and rising stars.

Tickets available from Bootleggers and online.
