There was a disappointingly small crowd at the Malt Room to see blues/rock guitarist Larry Miller.
But that did not seem to faze Larry, who performed a high-octane show that seemed to delight everyone in the audience.
He is an incredibly gifted guitarist, who seems to live and breathe every note he plays.
He's also entertaining, likeable and engaging, particularly in those moments when - mid guitar solo - he races across the stage, a huge smile on his face, makes firm eye contact with a member of the audience and shots 'yeah!' It's a winning combination that has everyone applauding.
Most of the songs are long due to the elongated guitar breaks but he breaks it all up with slower blues numbers and out and out rockers.
It was good to see him play three tracks from his latest album Soldier of the Line - the title track plus One fine Day and Mississippi Mama.
If you get to the opportunity to see Larry Miller live, don't miss it.
