Fleetwood Bac: Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal

Reviewing tribute acts can be quite a tricky task. Are you judging the band on how close they can reproduce the original act's music or as performers in their own right?

And is it the original sound you look for or a 'live' version of that sound?

Fleetwood Bac aim to look like 'Mac', complete with wigs, poses and referring to each other in character.

With a catalogue as great as Fleetwood Mac , a tribute act can't really go wrong with their set.

In this case, Fleetwood Bac were at their best when 'Christine', 'Stevie' and 'Lindsay' sang together, ably capturing the terrific harmonies of their heroes on songs like 'Everywhere', 'Gold Dust Woman', 'Don't Stop' and 'Dreams'.

The musical interludes were not always as tight and crisp. And, although the sound might have been better if you were standing in the middle towards the front of The Malt Room, where I was standing, to the side, it was a little muddy.

That said, there were plenty in the sell-out audience who were waving their hands, dancing and celebrating the music of one of the best bands in rock history.
