A BRAND new, sparklingly funny and sweetly touching musical inspired by the music of Dusty Springfield will groove into Llandudno just in time for the summer.

Hot of the heels of its world premiere in 2017, Son of a Preacher Man is bringing three tales of love through the ages to Venue Cymru for five nights at the end of May.

Starring the cream of soap land, recording artist and Eastenders star Michelle Gayle and Hollyoaks Alice Barlow will shine with expert choreography from Strictly Come Dancing's Craig Revel Horwood, the show takes inspiration from the greatest hits of icon Dusty Springfield.

Welcome to the Preacher Man, the place to be in swinging 1960s Soho where legendary owner, The Preacher Man himself, dispensed advice to cure lonely of hearts of everyone who came to dance the night away and dared to dream of love.

The story picks up long after where all the remains are the memories, the stories and the myths.

That is, until three random strangers - generations apart - are inexplicably drawn to the former site of the club to seek the Preacher Man's wisdom once more to help with their hopeless love lives.

The Preacher Man is long gone, but his son, with help from the wonderful Cappuccino Sisters, might just find it in himself to channel the spirit of The Preacher Man and once more give these three lovesick strangers the look of love.

The sounds of time will be brought to back to life in this stunning production, timeless classics The Look Of Love, I Only Want To Be With You, Spooky and of course, the classic Son Of A Preacher Man perfectly setting the mood.

Son of a Preacher Man comes to Venue Cymru at 7.30pm from Tuesday, May 29 until Saturday, June 2 2018, with matinee showings at 2.30pm on May 30 and June 2.

Tickets are between £21 and £38 and are available from venuecymru.co.uk or by calling 01492 872000.
