HUNDREDS of visitors enjoyed a day out to Dentdale Gala on Monday to help make it a smashing success.
The popular races for adults and children proved to be such a hit that many of them had to have heats so that everyone could take part, while pot smashing also went down a treat along with a dog show, a variety of stalls, a raffle and a barbeque.
“They were the best supported races we have had for years,” said Sarah Woof, chair of the memorial hall committee. ”It was absoultely fantastic. I think we raised near our £2,000 target, which goes towards the up-keep and refurbishment of the village hall.”
