MORE than 1,000 people turned out to enjoy Crosby Ravensworth Show.

Livestock classes, wrestling, trade stands a vintage rally and ploughing competition all competed for attention, and delighted secretary Lynda Kindleysides said: “We had more than 100 extra people this year so we were really pleased.

“The weather was kind to us after a wet night and that helped.

"We were also delighted to host the world championships in the 11 stone Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling – that drew quite a few people in.”

The cattle classes were well supported and Holstein UK classifier John Gribben, of Carnforth, judged the young handlers category.

Local charities were also at the show as part of their fund-raising efforts, with one raffle raising almost £1,000 for the air ambulance.
