‘Bigger than ever’ was the word on the streets on Saturday as Ambleside’s phenomenally successful Christmas lights switch-on day broke all records yet again.
Crowds of people headed into the town for a light-hearted day of sheer fun and festivity.
Hundreds of hours of hard work brought smiles to thousands of faces.
The whole town was heaving,” said Christmas Lights chairman Andrew Hewitt.
"We thought it was massive last year — but this was bigger than ever, with the whole community coming together to help in different ways.
"A huge thank you must go to both Rotary clubs in Ambleside, and to Mountain Rescue and St John, as well as Windermere and Ambleside Lions for the fantastic firework display.”
