KENDALIANS turned out in their thousands for the town’s Christmas lights switch-on.
The weather was kind to families who lined the streets to soak up the festive cheer as the town kicked off this year’s celebrations.
As darkness began to fall, Santa Claus and his reindeer wound their way from K Village to the Market Place.
Britain’s Got Talent finalist Steven Hall wowed the cheering crowds with a spectacular never-before-seen festive routine he prepared especially for the event.
Mayor of Kendal Jonathan Brook then flicked the switch to light up the town for Christmas.
“It was a great success,” said Mr Brook.
“There were lots of people outside the town hall, where I joined the reindeer.
"I thought it was a good all-round do.”
