DOZENS of vintage and classic cars added a splash of colour to the high moorland of the M6 near Shap at the weekend.
A steady stream of “golden era” motor cars from the 1920s and 1930s turned heads taking part in a major international endurance rally.

Racers called at Cowgill near Dent, Kirkby Stephen and stopped for a short time at The Shap Wells Hotel on the outskirts of Shap, which was checkpoint 20.
The “Classic Reliability Trial” is now in its 5th year with drivers taking part from Great Britain, America, Canada and Ireland, among others.
The long haul for these 'rockets on wheels' climaxed in Edinburgh on Sunday.
