TALENTED players of the Westmorland Youth Orchestra take to the Coronation Hall stage at Ulverston on Saturday, November 30 (6.30pm) alongside a top notch trio from the Manchester Camerata.
Billed as Mega Youth Orchestras, the concert is performed by WYO and other young musicians from across the region as a finale to the Aiming High project, which encourages and offers players in the early stages of their musical career the experience of playing in a large orchestra.
To prepare them for the concert, the three Manchester Camerata musicians - Ryan Breen, Rachael Clegg and Barbara Grunthal - led two workshop days working hard at special music that WYO conductor and composer Roland Fudge arranged especially for the occasion.
The Coro programme includes Smetana’s lovely Vltava, the well-known Trout by Schubert, Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, plus all players combining for the climatic finale - Climb Evr’y Mountain from the Sound of Music.
Coro box office 01229-587140.
