FUN with a capital F is the name of the game for the guys and gals gearing up for a whole 'lotta' panto at Burneside.

Written and directed by Lakes School teacher Mark Crook, Dick Whittington and His Cat is Burneside Amateur Theatrical Society's annual dose of high octane hilarity whizzing around The Bryce tomorrow night (Friday, January 9, 7.30pm) and Saturday, and January 14-17 (7.30pm).

With big numbers and songs specially written for the show, Mark's re-imagined version of the timeless tale of one man and his mog puts several BATS stars in the side-splitting spotlight. Among them is Adam Carruthers in the guise of Idle Jack and well-known singer Elaine Burke is in the royal role of Queen Kissimee.

Elisha Jade-Selby plays Blink and Carly Pearson plays the principal part of Dick who treads the pun-laden, pantomime path to London in search of his fabulous fortune.

Along the way he meets and adopts Brian the cat (played by Hannah Griffiths) and bumps into good Fairy Bowbells (Helen Townson) who promises to take care of them on their journey south.

For Dick and Brian there are adventures aplenty, and once in London young Dick falls head over heels in love with the beautiful Alice (Jess Simpson).

As well as evening shows there will be 2pm matinees on Saturday and Sunday, January 10/11 and Saturday, January 17.
