THE Brewery’s spring season includes a two-night run for The Picture of Doreen Gray by the highly entertaining duo of Maggie Fox and Sue Ryding, widely known as Lip Service, who on February 27/28 perform an updated comedy version of Oscar Wilde’s famous novel about the pursuit of beauty at all costs.

Award-winning Lip Service are regular visitors to Kendal arts centre with their often bizarre, and always comic, interpretations of classics.

This time around they're encouraging people to become part of the show and are looking for willing members of the Lakeland community of any age or persuasion to perform live and on film in their The Picture of Doreen Gray show.

Their creative team will run workshops prior to the performances to rehearse three musical numbers as well as developing material which will be filmed for inclusion in each of the Brewery performances.

"This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills, have the most hilarious time and perform in a professional production alongside two of the craziest ladies in theatre," explains Brewery drama Tricia Gordon,

Workshop dates are Sunday, February 8, Wednesday, February 18, and Friday, February 20, all from 7pm-10pm and Thursday, February 26, 8pm-10pm. All rehearsals will be held at the Brewery.
