FLARED trousers, platform shoes and some high energy dance routines take centre stage in Kirkbie Kendal School's glittering, groove-laden end of term show

Bringing London and the summer of 1976 to the Brewery Arts Centre from Tuesday-Friday, June 27-30, Disco Inferno features some of the greatest hits of the 1970s, including I Will Survive, Starman, Crocodile Rock, Play That Funky Music, Boogie Nights and, of course, Disco Inferno.

Produced by Mark Leadbeatter and directed by Gemma Barton, Jen Donald and Sophie Matthews, the five star chunk of funk and disco favourites will be performed by a live band and the talented Kirkbie Kendal's cast.

With the book by Justin Sepple and musical arrangements by Brett Foster and Jim Coyle, Disco Inferno is a Faust-like story of an ambitious and talented hopeful, Jack Flash, and his 'burning' desire to make it in the music business at any cost. Working late as a barman in a nightclub, The Disco Inferno, Jack meets Lady Marmalade - a femme fatale and right-hand lady to the Devil himself. Dreaming of becoming a superstar, Jack strikes a deal with her, trading his soul to fulfill his wildest dreams.

Jack soon becomes a music sensation and making it onto Top of the Pops - but success proves to be hollow.

He has the fame and fortune he'd always dreamed of but is losing something far more important - the love of his life, Jane.

Performances start at 7.30pm.

Tickets from the Brewery box office on 01539-725133.
