CHAOS Collective has set its sights on this year's Edinburgh Fringe with director Lauren Davey preparing a modern reimagining of Shakespeare's comedy Much Ado About Nothing.

Lauren says the Kendal-based theatre group's adaptation of Much Ado will be physical, fast paced and musical (loud) and will showcase all the talents of the core cast involved.

As well as the Fringe, Lauren et al will be perform their brand new take on the well-loved story to local audiences in an inclusive and family friendly way: "Our way of doing Shakespeare is totally accessible, and our main aim is to excite and inspire people using these classic works by The Bard in unexpected ways."

"We are currently fundraising to take our latest production to Edinburgh, and the local shows will be in the run up to this in summer, and will take place in scenic outdoor locations, in our much loved picnic-theatre style. We are a not for profit company, so all funds raised go directly toward the administrative costs of applying for the Fringe."

Local dates pencilled in for Chaos so far include performing The Tempest at Ruskins in Kendal on Friday, April 13, with live music and games.

Much Ado follows on from Chaos' successful Summer of Shakespeare season of 2017, where the ambitious players performed The Tempest and A Midsummer Night's Dream in a variety of venues and performance spaces, including Lancaster Castle, Kendal College and Morecambe's Winter Gardens.
