Panto review: Aladdin @ Brewery Arts Centre, Kendal

By Carrie Allen

WOULD you believe me if I told you this was the first pantomime I’ve ever been to?

I’ve always avoided them because I’m not one for all ‘oh yes it is’ malarkey.

Could the Brewery’s Mason and Allen production of Aladdin possibly change my cynical mind?

Five years ago, Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre put on its production of Aladdin, which proved so popular with the public, it decided to bring it back.

The tale begins with narration from bubbly Genie, waiting to grant three wishes to the first person who rubs her magic lamp. We’re led into a magical tale of adventure, love, threaded with delightfully composed songs and great singalongs!

All-in-all, the cast was marvellous and kept us entertained thoughout the three hours.

The production was slick, well acted, and enjoyable!

A perfect night out for all the family.
