ACCLAIMED performer Rebecca Vaughan takes centre stage at the Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness, on Thursday, November 16 (7.30pm) in Dyad Productions Jane Eyre: An Autobiography, a new and radical solo production, written and directed by Elton Townend Jones. Based on the novel by Charlotte Bronte, the play tells of governess Jane Eyre and Master Edward Rochester, who struggling to think, live and love beyond the stifling expectations of duty, class and convention, take a dark journey towards sensual and intellectual liberation.
Meanwhile, as part of the Old Laundry's three day 'Jane' themed productions is Promise and Promiscuity, a new one woman musical put together by New Zealand comedian Penny Ashton on Wednesday, November 15, and on Friday, November 17, Box Tale Soup stages its award-winning adaptation of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey, performed by a cast of two actors and seven handmade puppets.
