ULVERSTON’S acclaimed comedy club is back for a festive show to conclude what has been another fantastic year for stand up in the town.

Planet Mirth is held at the home of comedy, the Laurel and Hardy Museum, while the larger Friday Night Live is across the road at the Coronation Hall.

Jollyboat headline the Christmas show at the museum on Saturday, December 23 (7pm) and bring something a little different to the mix in the form of musical comedy with a piratey twist. Brothers Tommy and Ed make up the hilarious, award-winning duo, specialising in cheeky salty sea dog reworks of popular songs and anthems as well as side-splitting originals. Three other award-winning, traditional stand up acts complete the show's line-up - 2016 English Comedian of the Year Josh Pugh, 2014 Piccadilly Comedy Club New Comedian of the Year, Alistair Williams and MC Phil Ellis, regular host at Manchester's multi-award winning Frog and Bucket.

Tickets from the Laurel and Hardy Museum, Brogden Street, on 01229-582292 or on online via www.partyforthepeople.org.
