East Lancashire actor Lucien Laviscount is one of the housemates in the new series of Celebrity Big Brother, which kicked off tonight.

Teenager Lucien, who stars as Jonah Kirby in BBC1 school drama Waterloo Road, is joined by Hollywood starlet Tara Reid, effervescent twins Jedward and Speaker's wife Sally Bercow.

Lucien, who has also appeared in Coronation Street as Sophie Webster's love interest, Ben Richardson, grew up in Read and went to Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe.

Speaking to presenter Brian Dowling, Lucien said that his mum bought him new clothes and packed his suitcase for him.

He also said that he was signed for the show just two days before it began. Aged 10 he won a part alongside David Beckham advertising Marks and Spencer.

He was a pupil at Carol Godby Theatre Workshop in Bury, and was on the books of Manchester casting agency, Linton Management.

Lucien has also appeared in teen comedy show Life Bites on the Disney Channel, Grange Hill and the film, Johnny and the Bomb, based on the Terry Pratchett book, alongside Zoe Wanamaker.

After weeks of speculation, the 11 celebrities for the first series since the show moved from Channel 4 to Channel 5 were finally revealed tonight.

Sally Bercow, whose husband John is the Speaker, and American Pie actress Tara Reid had been widely expected to enter the house in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

Kerry Katona, a regular in the pages of OK! magazine which is owned by C5 boss Richard Desmond, was also a shoo-in.

Others entering the house are traveller Paddy Doherty, best known for his appearance on Channel 4's Big Fat Gypsy Wedding, and Amy Childs from ITV2's The Only Way Is Essex.

Other names include male model Bobby Sabel paparazzi boss Darryn Lyons and actress Pamela Bach, the former wife of David Hasselhoff.
