THE work of talented art and design students at Kendal College take centre stage in the end of year show.

Once again, the annual exhibition showcases the diversity and high standard of their work.

KC lecturer Sorrel Stratford said the students had responded to their own briefs, through a variety of artistic disciplines and approaches, ranging from fashion design to photography.

And the added appeal of the exhibition was the broad range of subject specialisms and the thought provoking themes that had emerged - a textile designer researching the fur trade, an artist exploring dementia, a graphic designer working with technology, and a fashion designer researching geometry.

“We are proud to be able to say that we have had another successful year for the art students at the college,” continued Sorrel. “It is fantastic to see so many new dynamic and creative individuals coming from the local area.”

Sorrel also explained that the college staff were really pleased that all the art students, who had applied to go on to university, had landed a place on their first or second choice campus.

The annual exhibition runs in the Wildman Street studio and Kendal Museum until June 19, Monday to Friday, from 9.30am-4pm.
