GRANGE and District Concert Club continues its 40th anniversary season with a performance by one of the most celebrated British pianists.

Internationally renowned pianist Martin Roscoe appears on the Grange-over-Sands Victoria Hall stage on Friday, August 9 (8pm), performing Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and works by other composers, including Chopin, Brahms and Mozart.

Ulverston-based Martin has played at the BBC Proms seven times and works regularly with UK orchestras such as the BBC Philharmonic, BBC Scottish Symphony, Halle, Manchester Camerata and the Royal Philharmonic and has made more than 500 broadcasts and numerous recordings.

The concert is a double celebration - not only of Grange Concert Club’s 40 years of music making but also the 21st birthday of its Steinway grand piano, which Martin helped to select.

The ruby celebratory season also features prizewinning Israeli cellist Adi Tal on September 6, and the final concert of the series on October 11 is billed as a Celebration Choral Evening with award-winning Amabile Girls Choir and outstanding soprano Rachel Little.
