BLUES fans have almost a month to snap up discounted tickets for next year’s Bowness Bay Blues Weekend.
For those who buy their tickets before December 31, there is a special Earlybird price of only £40 for the full weekend.
This time around festival organisers the Rotary Club of Windermere have teamed up with Kendal’s Brewery Arts Centre for promotions and ticket sales.
Bowness Bay Blues 2014 will be held from April 11-13 and headliners include Marcus Bonfanti (leading exponent of the new generation of British blues), Sean Webster (known for his inspired guitar playing and passionate vocals) and Midnight Train (featuring renowned singer Debbie Giles and legendary drummer Sam Kelly).
Meanwhile, the Alex McKown Band, AWOL, The Brothers Groove, The Bullfrogs, Off the Hook, Slowburner and Tin Pan Alley will be playing electrifying blues rock in various venues over the weekend.
In addition, there will be acoustic blues wizardry from Blue Swamp, folky blues from The Swaps, 1950s-style Chicago blues from Tommy Allen and Johnny Hewitt, boogie-woogie piano from Dan Burnett, acoustic ballads from Buzz Elliot, and blues, jazz and rock from local favourites The Elderly Brothers.
