KNOWN for their passionate and furious live shows, Welsh rockers The Blackout are coming to Preston’s 53 Degrees at the end of this month.

The youthful six-piece use double vocals and searing guitars to create their own, frenzied, sound.

They started life in 2005 as a bunch of mates from Merthyr Tydfil, and said the band was ‘a by-product of our friendship’.

By the end of 2006 they had toured with bands including The Guns and Kids In Glass Houses, and released their debut EP 'The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!'

The record earned the band a fiercely dedicated following, which has grown with every subsequent release.

Albums 'The Best in Town', 'Hope' and 'Start the Party' have all gone Top 40 in the UK album charts, as the band's muscualr sound goes from strength to strength.

The Blackout play at 53 Degrees on January 24 as part of their latest tour, in support of 2012 release ‘Start the Party’.

Support on the night comes from party-punks Rat Attack, whose debut EP has just earned four Ks in Kerrang! magazine.
