A MAJOR record label-backed tour to showcase up-and-coming bands is stopping in Carlisle next month.

The Satellite Tour is pioneering a new touring circuit, aiming to stay away from the towns and cities frequented by most bands and visit all corners of the UK.

The bands partaking in the tour have been handpicked as those likely to make waves throughout 2014 and beyond.

Sons and Lovers (Polydor Records) have just supported New Zealand’s The Naked and Famous on their latest UK tour.

The four-piece have just released their track ‘Ghosts’, which is currently available as a free download.

Eliza and the Bear (Capitol Records) are fresh off the Paramore arena tour, and have received recognition from radio across the board including plays from the likes of Fearne Cotton and Zane Lowe on Radio 1.

Fred Page (Virgin EMI Records) is a singer/songwriter who made his name playing independent nights across the capital.

The tour comes to The Brickyard on February 11, with the venue’s Mark Howlette saying, “It's a great opportunity for Carlisle to see these up-and-coming bands in the early stages.”
