GLOBAL chart-topper Jessie J is coming to Cumbria to perform at an open-air concert at Carlisle Racecourse this summer.

The singer-songwriter, whose hit single ‘Price Tag’ was number one in 19 countries around the world, will play at an afternoon race meeting at the city track on July 27.

The Brit winner is the third and final big-name artist confirmed for the racecourse this year, with the Kaiser Chiefs playing there on July 5 and Wet Wet Wet headlining Ultimate Ladies’ Night on August 4.

Jessie J’s 2011 debut album, ‘Who You Are’, produced six top 10 UK hits, including ‘Do It Like A Dude’, ‘Nobody's Perfect’ and ‘Domino’, which was her second UK number one single.

The 25-year-old Londoner released her follow-up album last year, ‘Alive’, which also reached the top five.

She was a mentor on BBC1's The Voice programme last year, performed at the London Olympics and has sold around 15 million records worldwide.

Geraldine McKay, Carlisle Racecourse general manager, said: "What an amazing day it will be to have Jessie J performing here after an afternoon’s racing.

"She's one of Britain's most exciting and innovative performers and to welcome her here on a Sunday afternoon completes an unprecedented summer treble.”
