WINDERMERE Rugby Club are holding their first music festival this Easter weekend.

On Friday and Saturday in place of the usual entertainment – sweaty rugby players covered in mud - will be some of the finest bands and acts that the circuit has to offer.

On Friday the audience will be treated to local band, The Falves with their blend of rock, pop and ballads.

Following The Falves is Connie Lush, whose act was described by Time Out as, “Big, belting, dirty and soulful blues from Liverpool's Lush, who's toured with BB King.”

The raunchy blues singer delivers a powerful mix of bare knuckle r&b, soul anthems and blues ballads.

On Saturday artists include Amazing Kappa, whose incredible riffs and original take on rock and blues have made them a legend from Liverpool to Chicago.

Local heroes Fabulous Picasso Brothers follow, with their rocking take on Country music and culminating with headline act Ainsley Lister.

The festival is being held to raise money for a youth rugby initiative - The Westmorland Barbarians, whose players are drawn from schools throughout South Cumbria.
