THIS Sunday will see Keswick’s Theatre by the Lake host ‘The Lindisfarne Story’ - the inside story of Tyneside’s most-loved band.
The evening will see founding member and drummer Ray Laidlaw and front man Billy Mitchell reveal secrets about the band’s rise to fame in the 60s and 70s.
The audience will hear accounts of the early days on Tyneside hustling for gigs, the release of the album which resulted in famous comparisons to Bob Dylan and the Beatles, and the band’s special relationship with Newcastle City Hall, where Lindisfarne performed over 140 gigs.
It’s all illustrated by personal archive photos and video of worldwide concerts, festivals and TV appearances.
The show will also feature intimate versions of favourites like ‘Lady Eleanor’, ‘Meet Me on the Corner’, ‘Fog on the Tyne’ and ‘Run for Home’.
