A 'STRIPPED back, intercultural' approach to Shakespeare will come to Appleby this weekend.
The Two Gents production company will bring a production of the Taming of the Shrew to the town, following the success of 2012's Two Gentlemen of Verona, which was performed at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.
Their latest play will explore violence, power, politics and marriage in a play described as 'smart, funny, entertaining and refreshing'. The focused and engaging rendition of this classic war of the sexes is performed by Dilek Rose and Isaac Ssebandeke - unfolding Shakespeare’s stories on a bare stage in their signature style that has won them praise from both audiences and critics.
The play will be on at Appleby Public Hall on Sunday (October 19) at 7.30pm.
