THEY may have been performing for barely a year but the increasingly impressive Will Pound Band have been making waves at live shows up and down the country with their exuberant, feel-good music.

Tuning up for their first ever tour, their fresh, intricately interwoven music is a perfect sound to greet a new year.

The quartet was curated by Will Pound - recognised as one of the best harmonica players in the world – who enlisted the wealth of talent that is Nizlopi’s double bass playing, beat-boxing John Parker, singer and guitarist Chris Sarjeant (Jackie Oates Band) and 2013 London Fiddle Champion Henry Webster to form The Will Pound Band.

It’s a success story born from adversity - having undergone heart operations as a child Will took up harmonica as an aid to breathing problems – and the result is two nominations for BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards’ coveted Musician of the Year title and Songlines Magazine 2014 Best Newcomer.

The Will Pound Band play at The Upfront Theatre, Penrith, on February 22.
