JENNINGS Keswick Jazz Festival returns this May with a brand new look, after the recent retirement of long-time organiser John Minnion.

Minnion, who has organised the festival every year since it began in 1992, recently handed over the reins to fellow musician and jazz enthusiast Graham Hughes.

This year the festival runs from May 7-10, with more than 100 events taking place in 15 venues.

The focus remains on the hugely popular traditional and mainstream style of jazz, all played in the fun and infectious style of a Mardi Gras celebration.

Venues include Theatre by the Lake, the Skiddaw Hotel and the Theatre Marquee in Crow Park, which has a stunning view across Derwentwater.

Graham’s previous appearances in Keswick include playing with the hugely popular Brass Volcanoes, who return this year to perform a free concert in the Market Square on Sunday.

He also plays in the parade band, which will once again lead the Saturday parade from the Market Square to the foreshore of Derwentwater.
